JET Tariff - Product Codes
JET Tariff features a powerful Product Code library that cuts down on future research time. You classify the commodity once; save the tariff heading against the commodity Product Code and in future, you'll have instant access to all the information, via the familiar Product Code.
JET Tariff automatically validates each tariff heading held against a Product Code and warns you if a tariff heading is no longer valid, i.e., deleted by Customs and Excise. In this case you will need to re-classify the product. The number of Product Codes that may be held is limited only by the size of your hard disk.
All that you have to do, in order to check to see if a Tariff Heading has been deleted, is to check your Product Library's "VALID" column. Any Product reflecting a "NO" in the "VALID" column, will need to be re-classified.
Each week, a copy of that week's amendments is supplied with your JET Tariff updates and can be printed, should you wish to do this. The supplied amendments enable you to be proactive in assessing the affect of the changes to the Customs Tariff.
Customs Tariff amendments are dealt with whenever SARS: Customs publish them, usually on a Thursday afternoon and are forwarded to you via email, or may be downloaded automatically, from within JET, from our website.
Customs Exchange Rates are updated daily and are forwarded to you in the same manner as the Tariff amendments.
